INTRODUCTION TO LANDSCAPE

Landscape is an expanse of scenery that can be seen in a single view or from a single viewpoint.

According to National Landscape Policy, landscape is the environment experienced by individuals. It carries a wide meaning comprising of the structure of geology and soil, flora and fauna, patterns of human activities such as plantations, forestry, housing, and industry. It is also the interaction between natural resources and human needs, which include efforts towards appreciating beauty and aesthetic values, architecture and the overall ecology and history of an area.

In the context of the National Landscape Policy, landscape refers to an ecosystem of natural and built environments. Natural landscape consists of the land forms, geology, waterbodies as well as flora and fauna. Built landscapes on the other hand includes human settlements, plantation areas, open spaces, public parks, public areas, as well as heritage and tourism areas, which include beauty and aesthetic values, architecture and the overall ecology and history of the area.

UiTM Sarawak Kampus Mukah has started its operation since 2015, can proudly accommodate up to 2,000 students, located at Lot 35 Block 99, Mukah Land District with an approximate site area of 55 acres. Total ground area is 128,478-meter square and for the number of which is maintenance are 8,478-meter square. This field is an intersection of formal, informal, and natural landscape zones. The zone divided in 5 main zone, including Zon A (Pondok Pengawal, Bangunan Pentadbiraan Setia Raja and Unit Kesihatan, Keselamatan & Penyelanggaraan), Zon B (Medan Selera & Pusat Pelajar, Kolej Seri Kuala 1 & 2, Kolej Seri Tanjung 1, 2 & 3, Sewage Treatment Plan (STP) Rumah Tetamu & Perpustakaan), Zon C (Bangunan Fakulti Perladangan & Agroteknologi, Dewan Kuliah, Bangunan Utiliti Mekanikal & Elektrikal, Bangunan Pengurusan Perniagaan, Fakulti Sains Gunaan and Surau & CITU), Zon D (Kafeteria & Dewan Peperiksaan) and Zon E (Unit Ladang).
